For my first installment, I wanted to go with something near and dear to my heart:
The Digimon Movie

Seriously, what a great movie! It's just freaking exciting! The Digimon Movie has pretty much all my favorite things: great animation, epic battle sequences and bromance. I was broshipping Tai and Matt before I knew what broshipping was!
And don't even get me started on the soundtrack. I maintain that it's one of the best movie soundtracks of all time, and nobody can convince me otherwise. (I remember getting the CD as a birthday present the year after the movie came out--so, 2001--and being overjoyed. I still have that CD, and that bad boy is loaded on my iPod. It gets some serious plays.)
For the curious, my favorite song off the soundtrack is "The Impression That I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, though "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies is a close second. Click the links for instant nostalgia!
Fun fact: It was only recently--like, a few months ago--that I learned that The Digimon Movie is actually a compilation of the first three Japanese Digimon films. That... actually explains a lot. Also, if you haven't seen the movie Summer Wars, you haven't lived. It's directed by the same guy who directed The Digimon Movie, and it explores a lot of the same ideas and themes (which is code for "It's basically The Digimon Movie, but with different characters and no Digimon"). Anyway, it's a fabulous movie. Watch it!
Back on track: No matter how many times I watch The Digimon Movie, I get the same rush of excitement that I did as a kid. *happy sigh*
Okay... I think I'm going to go get my DVD and watch the movie again.
